KIRKUK, Iraq โ Kirkuk International Airport operated its first direct flight to Dubai on Sunday, the airport's media official Herdi Salihi said. The new route is part of efforts to expand the airport's service network, Salihi added.
Flights to Dubai will operate three times a week, offering an additional option for travelers from Kirkuk and surrounding cities. The direct service is expected to support trade, tourism and passenger movement between Kirkuk and the United Arab Emirates.
Salihi said airport management aims to attract additional airlines and open new routes in the coming period. The airport said the launch would strengthen Kirkuk International Airport's position and contribute to air connectivity in the city. Further details on participating carriers were not immediately available.
