BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbusi met with senior Jordanian officials to discuss joint strategic projects, with the Basra-Aqaba oil pipeline taking center stage.\n\nAccording to Parliament's official statement, both sides focused on deepening cooperation in the energy sector and reviewed technical and legal steps needed to advance construction of the pipeline. If completed, the project would allow Iraq to ship crude oil through Jordan's port as an alternative route to international markets.\n\nThe officials also addressed electricity supplies, border security and trade development. They agreed that relevant commissions from both countries would work in coordination on the project timeline and implementation mechanisms.\n\nTechnical delegations are expected to meet again in the coming period to further develop the proposals.
