Iraq’s government is in talks with foreign oil companies operating in the country to restart work at closed oil fields, as Baghdad seeks to boost export revenue and keep shipments moving regularly. Preparations are also under way for Iraqi oil shipments to resume through Turkey’s Ceyhan port in the coming days. Ministry of Oil spokesman Saheb Bazoun said alternative routes will be brought into use to support exports and ensure the continuity of shipments. He said the measures are aimed at strengthening oil revenue while maintaining steady flow to markets. Bazoun said Iraq’s oil production has continued despite recent developments. He added that facilities and reserves have been protected.
