The Iraq Football Federation’s elections officially opened in Baghdad on Monday, with the new board set to be chosen at a ceremony held at the Rashid Hotel. The vote will determine the federation’s next leadership and shape the administration of Iraqi football.
Adnan Dargal, Iyad Binyan and Younis Mahmoud are running for president, while five candidates are competing for first vice president and another five for second vice president. Twenty-seven people have also filed candidacies for federation membership.
Representatives from FIFA and the AFC arrived in Baghdad to oversee the election process. Their presence is intended to monitor the vote and ensure the proceedings are conducted under international supervision.
