BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's state-owned Iraq Drilling Company (IDC) has completed drilling at the EBS-157 horizontal well in an oil field southeast of the capital, the company said. According to the statement, the well reaches a total length of 4,152 meters.
IDC said the work was carried out in line with a program designed to raise production capacity at the field. The horizontal drilling technique was chosen to match the underground geological structure and is intended to improve the well's output.
The company's technical and engineering teams are continuing field development operations at the site. IDC said horizontal drilling projects are expected to contribute to increased domestic production.
The company added that it is continuing work to develop oil deposits across the country. No further details on the field's location, operator or production targets were immediately provided.
