BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Omar Adil al-Waili, head of Iraq's General Company for Border Crossings, has reiterated the authority's commitment to the government's economic policy, according to an official statement.
The statement said border crossings are being managed to support national economic development and that the authority is working to implement the government's directives in full. It added that operations covering imports, exports and customs procedures are aimed at bolstering the economy.
Al-Waili said border crossings serve as facilitators of trade flow and that inter-agency coordination is essential to that role. He noted that crossing procedures are being carried out in line with government directives, with inspections strengthened within that framework.
The authority said it would uphold anti-corruption and transparency principles and use resources efficiently to contribute to economic goals. Al-Waili pointed to the role of border crossings in state revenues, adding that work in this area would continue.
