Iraqi police seize weapons cache in Anbar, arrest three suspects

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraqi police seized an underground weapons cache and arrested three suspects in a raid in the Juybe area of Ramadi district in Anbar province, the Anbar Police Command said in a statement. The operation was carried out jointly by the Anbar Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism Directorate's Ramadi unit and the Ramadi Police, according to the statement. Officers recovered five Kalashnikov rifles, two RBK weapons, two BKC machine guns and two G.C NATO-caliber weapons, along with seven BKC ammunition belts, 500 BKC rounds and 250 rounds of various other calibers. The suspects and the confiscated weapons were handed over to the Anbar Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism Directorate for legal proceedings, the statement said.
