WASHINGTON, United States — WASHINGTON — US presidential negotiator Steve Witkoff said Iran will allow International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors access to its nuclear facilities, according to the Associated Press. Speaking in a closed-door briefing to members of Congress, Witkoff said Tehran would invite the UN nuclear watchdog to inspect the sites and begin identifying and disclosing locations containing enriched material. Witkoff noted that the access arrangement for IAEA personnel was not included in a memorandum of understanding signed between Washington and Tehran on the night of June 18. The negotiator said the step was set out in a letter Iran sent to the IAEA and formed part of Tehran's efforts to demonstrate good faith on nuclear transparency. The development follows the signing of the memorandum of understanding, which also aims to end military conflict between the United States and Iran, lift a maritime blockade on Iranian ports and restore navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. The agreement sets a 60-day timeline for negotiations on Iran's nuclear program.
