French footballer Paul Pogba posted a photo on social media showing a Palestinian child standing amid rubble in Gaza, expressing solidarity with the message "how can I not be saddened." Pogba, who has been dealing with injuries and limited playing time, is in talks to mutually terminate his contract with his club Monaco.
The Gaza post is not Pogba's first public stance on the Palestinian issue. In September 2025, he was among 48 international athletes who signed an open letter to UEFA condemning military operations in Gaza. The letter called for sporting sanctions, including Israel's suspension from UEFA competitions.
Pogba combined his concerns about his club career with the humanitarian situation in the region in a single social media post. No further details on the status of his contract talks with Monaco were immediately available.
