WASHINGTON, United States โ A senior Iranian source has told Reuters that there are no discussions about extending the current ceasefire between Iran and the United States, and that Tehran has not set a date for the start of the arrangement, meaning there is no defined period to extend.
The source accused Washington of violating the interim agreement 48 hours after it was signed and withdrawing from the deal within several days. Iranian officials said those actions left the two sides discussing whether the US would return to the memorandum of understanding and set a timeline for meeting its obligations.
The Iranian source said no progress had been made on either of those two points. The report did not indicate when, or whether, the two sides might resume direct contact on the disputed terms.
