Fire at gas facility in Anbar's al-Qa'im extinguished; four injured

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's Civil Defense teams extinguished a fire on Tuesday at a private gas facility in the town of al-Qa'im in Anbar province, authorities said. Crews brought the blaze under control and were conducting cooling operations at the site. Emergency responders evacuated vehicles parked near the facility to prevent the flames from spreading, according to the Civil Defense Directorate. The directorate said four people injured in the fire were transferred to al-Qa'im Hospital for treatment. Officials have not yet released information on which section of the gas facility, located in al-Qa'im's industrial zone, the fire originated. Anbar Civil Defense teams said security measures at the site had been reinforced and that an investigation into the cause of the blaze has been opened.
