Iranโs Foreign Ministry said in Tehran that the government is currently focused on ending the war rather than on the nuclear file, as regional diplomacy intensifies and a ceasefire agreement takes shape. Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghai said any act of aggression would be met with a response.
Baghai said Tehran would, as before, choose the timing for punishing the enemy. He added that there is no guarantee Washington will keep its promises, saying the United States has been changing its positions repeatedly.
He said significant changes had taken place in recent weeks through mediation by Pakistan and other countries. Baghai said an agreement had been reached on securing a ceasefire in the region.
Tehran also said it is cooperating on security with countries in the Strait of Hormuz, underscoring the regional dimension of the latest diplomatic efforts.
