Iran Calls on US to Honor Commitments Based on International Rules

TEHRAN, Iran — Iran has called on the United States to honor its commitments within the framework of international rules. President Masoud Pezeshkian also urged Washington to revise its approach toward Iran and use appropriate language rather than coercion. The statement came after Pezeshkian met Pakistan’s Chief of General Staff. According to Iran’s presidency, Pezeshkian expressed hope that the two countries would work together to achieve the objectives of the Islamabad agreement. Pezeshkian said Iran was ready to pursue economic, political and security cooperation with Islamic countries and neighboring states. Pakistan’s military chief said the diplomatic process should be carefully reviewed to achieve shared objectives. The sides said reaching a comprehensive agreement could create a new starting point for development, reconstruction and collective security in the region.
