Saudi Arabia nominates Hanan Hassan Balkhy for WHO director-general

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — Saudi Arabia has nominated Hanan Hassan Balkhy as its candidate for the World Health Organization director-general position for the 2027–2032 term, citing her experience in public health and health security. The kingdom said its decision reflects support for the WHO's role in strengthening global health security and helping countries build more effective, sustainable and resilient health systems.
