Ilham Shahin Recounts Her Mother's Final Moments

Egyptian actor Ilham Shahin described, in a talk show appearance, the night her mother died in hospital and said the memory still remains vivid. She said she stayed by her mother’s side through her final hours and called a doctor after thinking she had taken a breath. Shahin said a long-standing dispute between them ended in the past and that she holds no negative feelings toward actor Aathar El-Hakim. She added that she wishes him well. The Egyptian actor also said she is not thinking about marriage at present. She said respect and understanding are the foundation of a successful relationship. Shahin reaffirmed her firm position against violence against women and said social issues should be addressed with greater awareness.
