Gunman opens fire at school near Bangkok, killing two and wounding 15

At least two people were killed and 15 others wounded in a shooting at a high school north of the Thai capital Bangkok, AFP reported, citing local media. Police said the attacker, a 14- or 15-year-old student, took his own life after the attack. The shooting took place at a well-known high school in the Bang Krui area of Nonthaburi province, according to Thai PBS radio. Lieutenant Colonel Disrapi Kongdi, the Nonthaburi police commander, confirmed the attacker's death. Thai media reported that the first shots were fired by a student inside the school. Among the dead was a teacher, while the wounded included both teachers and students. Authorities said the exact death toll had not yet been finalized as the investigation continued. Nonthaburi, a neighboring province of Bangkok, was the site of one of Thailand's deadliest school shootings in recent years. Investigators are examining the shooter's background and possible motives.
