Guardiola turns down Inter Miami coaching offer, English reports say

Spanish coach Pep Guardiola has rejected David Beckham’s offer to take charge of Inter Miami, according to English media reports. Beckham had made Guardiola his first choice after Javier Mascherano resigned last month. Inter Miami have decided to wait a little longer in an effort to persuade Guardiola, the reports said. Guardiola has previously said he wants to step away from football for a period after ending his contract with Manchester City. People close to Guardiola said he would prefer his next coaching job to be with a national team rather than a club. That has drawn the attention of the Football Association, which had wanted to appoint him England manager after Gareth Southgate resigned in 2024 but did not reach an agreement. The reports said any future move to the England job would depend on the team’s World Cup performance.
