Generator Cable Dispute in Baghdad Leaves 2 Dead

A gunfight in Gazaliye, east of Baghdad, over a generator cable left the generator owner and one other person dead. The clash broke out between the owner and five people before security forces moved in and brought the situation under control.
Security forces detained those responsible at the scene, while the bodies of the two victims were transferred to the forensic medicine center. The incident adds to a pattern of occasional armed clashes in parts of the capital.
Security forces continue efforts to control unlicensed weapons as armed disputes periodically erupt in Baghdad.
