French far-right leader mocks Macron's sunglasses as a 'second slap'

The politician questioned whether the eyewear was a "fashion statement" or another slap, and recalled Macron's earlier explanation that he had temporarily worn sunglasses following bleeding in his eyeball. Philippot also noted that the company that produced the glasses Macron wore at the World Economic Forum in Davos in January had since gone bankrupt. He added that U.S. President Donald Trump addressed the same pair of sunglasses during his own speech at the forum, offering what Philippot described as an unusual remark directed at Macron. Macron said in January that he wore the glasses temporarily for health reasons. No immediate response from the Élysée was reported.
