RAMADI, Iraq โ Civil defense teams in Anbar province extinguished a fire that broke out on a moving fuel tanker on a commercial street in central Ramadi on Thursday, the provincial Civil Defense Directorate said.
According to the directorate, the fire started on El-Mustawda Street in the city center. Crews responded quickly and contained the blaze before it could spread to nearby shops, officials said.
The tanker sustained material damage, but no fatalities or injuries were reported, according to the directorate. Authorities said the fire was limited to the vehicle itself.
The incident was the second fuel-tanker fire recorded in Ramadi within 72 hours. Three days earlier, on Monday, another fire broke out on a tanker parked at a fuel station in the city. That fire was also brought under control by emergency crews, and the rest of the station was saved. Damage in both incidents was confined to the tankers involved, with no casualties reported.
