Iraqi army airstrike destroys 8 ISIS hideouts in Kirkuk

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's Security Media Cell said airstrikes destroyed eight ISIS hideouts in an area under the 11th Brigade within the Kirkuk Operations Command area of responsibility. According to a written statement, the operation was carried out based on intelligence provided by the Directorate of Military Intelligence. The cell said reconnaissance flights were conducted before the strikes, which it said were carried out by Cessna Caravan aircraft in coordination with the Air Force Command and the Targeting Cell attached to the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. The statement added that ISIS remnants had been identified in the targeted area and that the hideouts were completely destroyed in a series of air raids. It described the operation as part of ongoing efforts against ISIS's presence in rural areas. The Security Media Cell said further details would be released in the coming hours.
