FIFA President Gianni Infantino issued a congratulatory message following the election of Younis Mahmoud as the president of the Iraq Football Association. FIFA has updated its official website to reflect the new leadership structure of the Iraqi federation. Under the new appointments, Sarhad Abdulilah serves as the first vice president, while Mohammed Nasser holds the position of second vice president. Mahmoud secured the presidency by receiving 38 votes in the election. Former president Adnan Dirjal received 20 votes, and a third candidate, Iyad Bunyan, received one vote.
