Iraq Foreign Ministry condemns attacks targeting Kuwait

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq’s Foreign Ministry said it condemned the targeting of Kuwait with missiles and drones and rejected all actions that could threaten the security and stability of countries in the region. In a statement, the ministry said it condemned Kuwait’s exposure to missile and drone attacks and called for restraint to reduce tensions and strengthen regional security and stability. It also stressed the importance of avoiding escalation. The statement said dialogue and diplomatic means should be the basis for resolving crises, and added that Iraq supports all regional and international efforts aimed at preventing the spread of violence. U.S. Central Command said earlier that Iran had targeted Kuwait with a ballistic missile and that the Kuwait army intercepted it.
