FIFA has announced seating capacities for the 16 stadiums that will host matches at the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The tournament will be the first to feature 48 national teams, expanding from the 32-team format used in previous editions.
Mexico City's Azteca Stadium tops the list with a capacity of 80,824. It is followed by MetLife Stadium in New Jersey/New York at 80,663, AT&T Stadium in Arlington/Dallas at 70,649 and SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles at 70,492. In Canada, Vancouver's BC Place will hold 52,497 spectators, while Toronto's BMO Field has a capacity of 43,036.
FIFA said the announced capacities reflect the historic scale of the tournament and indicated the event could surpass the attendance record set at the 1994 World Cup in the United States. The federation did not provide additional details on scheduling or ticket allocation.
