KIRKUK, Iraq โ€” Feyli Kurds in Kirkuk are calling for fair representation in government and administrative roles, saying they have long been excluded from public institutions. Davud Esad el-Feyli, the Kirkuk representative of the Feyli Kurds Union, said the community holds no effective positions in local administration or higher government levels, which weakens their ability to present demands to state institutions. He noted that Feyli Kurds have previously faced forced displacement, denaturalization and arrests. The community's demands extend beyond official posts to include fair employment opportunities for young people and the inclusion of qualified individuals in state institutions. El-Feyli urged both local and central governments to increase their participation. Feyli Kurds are asking that their historical and economic contributions to the region be reflected in its governance.
