Eight Arab and Islamic states issued a joint statement sharply condemning Israeli far-right minister Itamar Ben Gvir over his treatment of activists detained from the Sumud Flotilla. They said his public humiliation of the detainees was a blatant assault on human dignity and a violation of international law.
The ministers also rejected what they described as Ben Gvir’s incitement and acts of violence against Palestinians, along with similar actions by other Israeli officials. They said such provocative steps fuel hatred and extremism and undermine efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace.
The statement called for Ben Gvir to be held accountable. It also urged concrete measures to prevent the повторation of similar violations.
