Drone Strike Sparks Fire at Oil Depot in Russia’s Novorossiysk Port

A fire broke out at an oil storage facility in Russia’s Black Sea port of Novorossiysk after debris from Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles fell on the site, local authorities said. The terminal is one of Russia’s key fuel export hubs, making the attack significant for the country’s energy logistics. The blaze affected multiple technical and administrative buildings, and two people were injured in the incident. Novorossiysk is widely known as a major center for Russia’s fuel shipments. Ukraine has regularly targeted energy facilities inside Russia as part of efforts to weaken Moscow’s ability to finance the war. The strike on Novorossiysk adds to that campaign against strategic infrastructure. Russia’s Defense Ministry said it shot down 348 Ukrainian drones between Friday night and Saturday morning. The ministry did not say how many drones were involved in the Novorossiysk incident.
