Drone attack targets military base in Erbil, casualties unclear

ERBIL, Iraq — An unidentified drone struck a military base in Erbil on Thursday, according to a local source. The attack targeted the Chamshar base, which belongs to the Kurdish National Army, a group known for its anti-Iran stance. The strike occurred within Erbil's administrative boundaries, the capital of the Kurdistan Region. The source said the extent of casualties or material damage from the attack remained unclear. Separately, two unidentified drones were intercepted and brought down by U.S. fighter aircraft near the Becil nahiyah in Akra district, Duhok province, according to the source. No injuries were reported in that incident, though limited material damage was reported at the crash site.
