Drone attack on Iran-opposition Kurdish party camp in Erbil wounds eight

TEHRAN, Iran — A drone attack on a camp belonging to the Kurdistan Freedom Party (PAK), an Iranian Kurdish opposition group, injured eight party members in Erbil, a senior party official said. The strike was carried out by unidentified unmanned aerial vehicles targeting the party's camp. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, and security authorities in the Kurdistan Region of northern Iraq had not issued an official statement. PAK is among the Iranian Kurdish groups opposed to Tehran, which has accused the party of carrying out armed activity. Iran-linked Kurdish positions in the Kurdistan Region have previously been hit by airstrikes and heavy bombardment. Erbil, the regional capital, has hosted offices and bases of several Iranian Kurdish opposition parties for years.
