Kirkuk Provincial Council member Ahmed Ramzi Kobirlo said dozens of service projects across the city have stopped because of insufficient financial allocations and the inability to make advance payments to contractors. He warned that the delays are affecting long-awaited public services and leaving completed work to deteriorate. Kobirlo said the sewage project in Kirkukโ€™s Kuriyah area has been suspended because no advance payment was made, and the road resurfacing project has faced the same problem. He said tying project continuation to advance payments has led to dozens of projects being put on hold. He stressed that the completed works have been damaged and that services citizens have waited for for years are being delayed further. The council member said the stalled projects remain on the agenda and require an urgent solution.
