Dhi Qar Reports Spike in Hemorrhagic Fever Cases, Slaughterhouse Closed

Dhi Qar Provincial Council said the province has recorded its highest number of hemorrhagic fever cases in the recent period, prompting authorities to shut down a slaughterhouse in Nasiriyah identified as the outbreak’s focal point. Medical teams reached that conclusion after two days of inspections and field work. The council ordered the slaughterhouse closed after officials said it was the main source of the disease’s spread in the city. The decision came as several Iraqi provinces are also seeing a notable rise in hemorrhagic fever cases.
