BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Canada defeated Qatar 6-0 in their second Group B match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Jonathan David scoring a hat trick. Kyle Larin opened the scoring in the 16th minute, before David added goals in the 29th and 45+3 minutes to give Canada a 3-0 halftime lead.
Qatar were reduced to nine players in the 54th minute when Madibo was shown a red card, and Canada had already been playing with 10 men in that phase of the match. Nissar Saliba curled in a free kick in the 64th minute, and Qatar's Mohamed Nasir Al-Manai turned the ball into his own net in the 75th minute to extend the lead further. David completed his hat trick in stoppage time, finding the net in the 90+2 minute to set the final score.
The victory lifted Canada to the top of Group B with four points from two matches.
