Baghdad Operations Command said roads will not be closed under its security plan for Eid al-Adha, while motorcycles and horse-drawn vehicles will be brought under control inside the city. The measures are aimed at maintaining security and public services during the holiday period.
At a coordination meeting at the command, officials reviewed final preparations and discussed security and service measures for the Eid days. The command said inspections, checks and monitoring operations will continue at parking lots and vehicle holding areas throughout the official holiday.
Security protection will be tightened around places of worship, holy pilgrimage sites, markets, shopping malls, restaurants, parks and children's entertainment areas. The meeting also decided to ban motorcycles and horse-drawn vehicles from crowded areas, with strict controls imposed when necessary.
Patrols, fire crews and ambulance teams will be stationed near high-density areas, while any security violations can be reported through emergency hotlines, the command said.
