FIFA says 2026 World Cup attendance tops 6.5 million

The figure was announced through FIFA's official social media channels, with the tournament running until July 19. The 2026 World Cup is the first expanded edition of the tournament, featuring 48 national teams across 104 matches. FIFA said the level of support in the stands has been strong throughout the championship. Four matches remain, including the semifinals. Spain will face France and defending champion Argentina will play England. The third-place match is scheduled for Sunday, followed by the final the next day.
