Russia says it shot down 220 Ukrainian drones in 12 hours

MOSCOW โ Russia's Defense Ministry said on Sunday that its air defense systems intercepted 220 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Moscow time. The ministry described the aircraft as fixed-wing Ukrainian-type drones.
According to the statement, the interceptions took place across multiple regions, including Belgorod, Bryansk, Kaluga, Kursk, Oryol and Tula, as well as Krasnodar, the Moscow region and the Republic of Crimea. The ministry added that additional drones were neutralized over the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.
The Defense Ministry did not immediately release a regional breakdown of the interceptions or report damage on the ground. No further details were immediately available.
