Babil Launches Gender Bridge Project in Hilla to Ease City Traffic

Babil has laid the foundation for the Gender Bridge project in the center of Hilla, with local authorities saying it will be a major step toward easing traffic congestion in the city center. The bridge is expected to connect the two sides of Hilla, reduce pressure in the Babül-Hüseyin district and work in coordination with surrounding roads. Officials said the project will be built as a four-lane bridge and will include service areas as part of the plan. Work is set to begin after the Eid holiday, and authorities said they aim to complete the project before the end of the contract period. The project is also significant because of earlier disputes over its route, which had led to calls for resignations in the provincial council. That resignation move was later rejected unanimously.
