Arab Parliament condemns Iranian drone attacks on UAE and Jordan

CAIRO, Egypt — CAIRO — The speaker of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi, condemned Iran's drone attacks on the United Arab Emirates and Jordan, describing them as a clear violation of the two countries' sovereignty and a direct threat to their security and stability. In a statement, Al-Yamahi said the parliament stood in full solidarity with the UAE and Jordan and supported their right to take any measures necessary to protect their security, sovereignty and the safety of their citizens. He stressed that both countries retain their legitimate right to self-defense under the United Nations Charter and international law. Al-Yamahi called on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to fulfill its legal and political responsibilities in response to the attacks and to prevent further escalation. He added that continued attacks of this kind are unacceptable, undermine efforts to establish security and stability in the region, and require respect for state sovereignty and non-interference in internal affairs.
