Egyptian actress Naglaa Fathy announces death of her daughter Yasmin

Yasmin Sif Abu al-Naja, the only daughter of Egyptian actress Naglaa Fathy, has died at around 44 years old. Her father, architect and former artist Sif Abu al-Naja, announced her death in a Facebook post. Speaking briefly at her daughter's funeral, Fathy said, "She was like an angel." The actress had previously said on a television program that her daughter was born with a heart condition, and some reports said Yasmin suffered a sudden heart attack in her final days. Yasmin made limited public appearances, including attending the fourth edition of the El Gouna Film Festival in 2020. She kept a life largely away from the media and was the only child of Fathy's five-year marriage to Sif Abu al-Naja in the 1970s. Family members and friends attended the funeral.
