BAGHDAD, Iraq โ The Anbar provincial government has released 42 billion Iraqi dinars in payments to farmers, covering the fourth tranche of dues for the 2025 farming season, a government spokesperson said. Distribution is set to begin at the start of next week through four delivery points across the province: the Ramadi silos, a storage complex in the 5-kilometer area, and the Al-Hayrat sites in Aana and Karma.
The government said the release followed intensive follow-up by Anbar Governor Omar Meysan Dubbus with the Minister of Trade. Anbar authorities confirmed that the amount applies specifically to the fourth installment of farmers' entitlements for the 2025 season.
Farmers in Iraq have frequently faced delays in seasonal payments, contributing to financial strain in agricultural areas. The release of the tranche is intended to address outstanding dues owed to growers in Anbar, one of the country's largest provinces by land area.
The spokesperson did not provide further details on how many farmers will receive the payments or the size of the earlier installments. No additional information was immediately available on whether other seasonal tranches are pending.
