Yemeni government forces launch drone strike on Houthis in Qa'atibah

ADEN, Yemen — Yemeni government forces carried out a drone strike against Houthi positions west of Qa'atibah, a town in the northern part of Ed Dali governorate, on Wednesday, according to a statement from the government-aligned armed forces. The statement said a number of Houthi fighters were killed in the attack but did not provide a casualty figure. The same statement said government forces shot down four Houthi drones in northern Marib. The developments come as Yemen's internationally recognized government and the Iran-backed Houthi movement continue to trade attacks along several front lines. The Houthis have also continued operations against commercial vessels and oil tankers in the Red Sea near the Bab al-Mandab Strait. On Tuesday, Yemen's Coast Guard said an attack on a commercial ship in the Bab al-Mandab killed six people and wounded ten.
