World Environment Day Commemorates 1972 UN Conference Milestone

World Environment Day is observed annually on June 5, marking the anniversary of the first major international environmental conference organized under United Nations auspices in 1972. The UN Conference on the Human Environment took place in Stockholm, Sweden, from June 5-16, 1972, establishing a shared vision for environmental protection and sustainable development.
