BAGHDAD, Iraq โ€” Kuwait's Defense Ministry said the Al-Abdali border crossing was hit repeatedly by hostile drones in the evening, causing material damage but no casualties. Ministry spokesperson Colonel Saud Al-Atwan said the relevant authorities began coordinating necessary measures immediately after the incident, and that the Kuwaiti army would continue all steps to safeguard border security. The General Fire Force said the fire that broke out at Al-Abdali was brought under control, also reporting no casualties. A correspondent reported that workers at Iraq's Safwan crossing on the opposite side were evacuated following the strikes. The ministry said the attack was carried out in retaliation for a previous Iranian missile strike on the Shalamcheh area. The Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Jordan issued a joint statement condemning attacks on Iranian territory.
