BAGHDAD, Iraq โ A woman died on Sunday after falling from Senk Bridge into the Tigris River in Baghdad, Iraqi security sources said. The woman, born in 1974, was reported to have had a history of psychological problems, according to initial findings.
Rescue teams recovered her body and transferred it to the forensic medicine department, the sources said, adding that required legal procedures would be completed there. No further details on the circumstances of the fall were immediately available.
In a separate incident in the southern district of Madain, a young woman born in 2006 was found dead at her home, the same sources said. A criminal investigation was opened after a forensic specialist raised doubts about the circumstances of her death, the sources added, with the inquiry aimed at determining the cause of death and completing the legal process.
