WhatsApp developing scheduled message feature for chat app

WhatsApp is working on a new scheduling option that will allow users to write a message and set it to send automatically at a chosen date and time. The feature, aimed at improving the user experience, would be accessed through a menu that opens when the send button in a chat is long-pressed, according to technology reports. The company is also preparing a dedicated section where users can view and manage scheduled messages, including editing the content or deleting the message before it is sent. The scheduling function is expected to work in group chats, though members who are not in the group at the scheduled send time would not see the message. WhatsApp plans to set a minimum scheduling window of 10 minutes and a maximum of two weeks, a range designed to reduce accidental sends and give users a final review period. Meta has not yet announced an official launch date, and the work remains in development, with the feature set to roll out to users gradually following testing.
