BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's Ministry of Finance has completed data entry for the closing accounts of fiscal years 2023, 2024 and 2025, according to a ministry announcement reported on Monday. The work was carried out by the Accounts Consolidation Unit within the Accounting Department as part of efforts to strengthen the accuracy of financial statements.
The ministry said monthly trial balances for June had also been entered in line with approved accounting procedures, a step officials said would reinforce the integrity and precision of financial data. The unit separately finalized the Republic of Iraq's closing account for fiscal year 2022, preparing it for referral to the Federal Financial Audit Office for review.
Officials stressed that the work was conducted in compliance with accounting regulations and standards, with the broader aim of improving efficiency in public financial processes. The ministry added that the process would continue to be monitored to maintain data accuracy and financial transparency.
