Iraq forecasts temperature drop on Wednesday, dust in central and southern areas

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's Meteorological Directorate said on Monday that temperatures will fall noticeably across the country on Wednesday, with clear skies and light to moderate northwesterly winds. Winds in the southern region are expected to reach up to 40 kilometers per hour. On Thursday, weather will remain clear, but winds of up to 40 kph in central and southern areas could raise light dust, the directorate said. Temperatures will rise slightly in central and northern regions and hold at the previous day's levels in the south. Friday is expected to bring clear skies and a slight rise in temperatures nationwide. Saturday will also be clear, with light to moderate northwesterly winds; temperatures will edge up in central and southern areas and stay steady in the north. The directorate forecast that Wednesday's highs will range between 37°C and 47°C across the country.
