HORMOZGAN, Iran โ Iranian state television reported that US strikes targeted two water reservoirs in the Bimani area of the Sirek region, resulting in drinking water outages for the local population.
State media denied initial reports that commercial ports on Qeshm Island, located at the entrance of the Strait of Hormuz, were targeted. Officials stated that the commercial ports on the island did not sustain any attacks.
Iranian television further reported that the wave of attacks in the Qeshm, Sirek, and Chasik regions has subsided and the situation has returned to normal.
The US administration stated that the operations targeted air defense systems and radars in southern Iran in response to the downing of an Apache helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz. The government in Tehran stated it would respond to any further aggressive actions.
