Sudani meets Iraq's investment chief to discuss reviving investment opportunities

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani, head of the Construction and Development Coalition, met on Monday with National Investment Commission Chairman Adel Yasin to discuss ways to revive investment opportunities in Iraq. According to Sudani's press office, the prime minister said investment is a fundamental element for the continuity of reconstruction and development. He described it as a key resource for generating employment, achieving development and supporting the national economy. Sudani stressed the importance of partnership with the private sector and said the coalition's parliamentary bloc would back legislation to facilitate domestic and foreign investment. Yasin, for his part, said the National Investment Commission would prepare a comprehensive plan to attract investment and streamline the granting of investment licenses. He also announced a wide-ranging review aimed at reorganizing the country's investment priorities.
