TEL AVIV, Israel — JERUSALEM — The US Embassy in Israel announced Tuesday it is lifting shelter-in-place orders for American personnel and families, allowing normal operations to resume after last week's exchange of attacks between Iran and Israel. The embassy said its consulate units in Jerusalem and the liaison office in Tel Aviv will reopen Wednesday to provide regular and emergency services. Ben Gurion Airport is operating normally, and travelers seeking flight information should contact airlines directly. Last Sunday, the embassy had ordered all US government personnel and their families to remain in their residences following mutual attacks between Iran and Israel. The shelter directive was removed after the Front Line Command updated its security guidelines based on changing conditions in Israel, according to the embassy's statement. Most of the country can now return to unrestricted activities, though some northern settlements remain subject to additional precautions.
