The United Kingdom has signed a new trade agreement with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) expected to strengthen economic ties and increase long-term annual contributions to the UK economy by £3.7 billion (approximately $5 billion).
The agreement introduces a comprehensive package of customs duty reductions to facilitate trade between the two regions.
British exports to GCC countries are expected to benefit from the removal of approximately £580 million in annual tariffs.
Upon the agreement's entry into force, £360 million of these tariffs will be eliminated immediately.
